negoiating the brief

On tuesday the 18th october we all was divided into 3 groups to negoitate the brief with mr James Chatton. the groups were:
Group 1(James Collect, Jurgen Hajdini, Jennifer lamb)

Group 2(Elliot Symons, Laura Dunkley, Premal Mackwana)

Group 3(Dale Harris, James Deeley, Andre Kimberley, Carl Faulkner)

In My group we gave the three roles of leader, scriber and summariser. I was the leader of the negotiaton, laura was the scriber and premal being the summariser. Our focus in the brief was to extend the deadline of the final publishing of the document being from 17th of december to the 1st of febuary.

My performance

I feel i played a strong role in the meeting as i lead our group through the meeting. I was very forward and confidient towards Mr Chatton however our client was very quick to react to the points a put across which i was unprepared for. if i was to do the meeting again i would prepare myself more thinking about what points mr chatton would put across to me. i was caught of gaurd for my lack of preparation towards the negotiation however the points i put across where very strong and reasonable. A negotiation did take place however we did not complete the amendment of the brief which is still on going. I beleive, as a group we work well and efficently together. premal used his phone to type in the meetings notes, i recorded the audio of the meeting on my phone and laura typed up meetings notes on the computer on the blogger website. Because we all recorded the negotiation of our meeting we was able to accuratly record the meeting from all memebers of our group. However the lack of qaulity of the recoreding made it difficult to hear what was said.Next time i would include a microphone with my phone so we get a clearer audio message when playing back the meeting. Dale harris from group 3 visually recorded group 1 and 2 meeting with Mr Chatton and when it come to dale's group i recorded his meeting with mr Chatton.

Mr Bowel

Mr Bowel was assessing our negotiating skills and he thourght we was prepared for the meeting however we wasnt prepared to compromiseing. Due to not compromising the meeting did not close and Mr chtton would like to continue the meeting over a email.


Prior the meeting before mr chatton attended we built up on our skills, highlighting the strenghts and weakness's in the clip we watched about negotiation.
